Ruth, who knows she doesn't deserve grace, is brought into the family line of Jesus Himself.

Track 7: “Ruth’s Joy” is a radiant turning point in the album, Genesis Jubilee, carrying the warm, surprising, soul-deep gladness of a story redeemed. Ruth is about more than loyalty and love—it's about being brought into a bigger story, chosen by grace, and given a name and a future in a line that leads all the way to Jesus.

Lyrics

Verse 1
I came with empty hands and dust upon my feet
A stranger in the harvest, gleanin’ in defeat
But kindness met me in the fields of grace
He called me “daughter”—and gave me a place

Verse 2
The threshing floor was holy ground that night
He covered me beneath the wings of right
He paid the price the law required of me
And love became my legacy

Pre-Chorus
From famine to fullness
From bitter to sweet
He turned my sorrow into a song complete

Chorus
He found me in famine
He gave me His name
Now I’m in a story
That leads to the King
From dust to a promise
From gleanin’ to grace
Love wrote me into
A royal place
And joy, joy, joy remains

Verse 3
Bethlehem’s gates sang joy when Obed cried
A baby born from mercy’s side
And whispers filled the town with David’s name
But One would come with greater fame

Bridge
I was not of the chosen tribe
But mercy crossed the great divide
My name was foreign—now it’s known
Adopted fully as His own

Final Chorus
He found me in famine
He gave me His name
Now I’m in a story
That leads to the King
No crown on my head
But joy in my soul
The One who redeemed me
Made my story whole
And joy, joy, joy remains
Yes, joy, joy, joy remains

Devotional Reflection

Ruth is a Moabite widow—a foreigner, a refugee, a woman with no claim to Israel’s promises. And yet, by faith and faithful love, she finds herself redeemed by Boaz, brought under his covering, and welcomed into God’s covenant family.

But even more stunning? This woman from outside the line becomes the great-grandmother of King David—and by God's design, part of the very lineage of Christ. That’s the joy of salvation: we who were far off are brought near, adopted into the family, and written into God’s redemptive story.

This track carries the intimate, humble joy of someone who knows they don’t deserve grace—but got it anyway. It’s a love song to the Redeemer, soaked in gratitude.
