Gov. DeWine, First Lady test negative for COVID-19 for the second time

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Gov. Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine have both tested negative for COVID-19 for the second time.

According to DeWine’s office, both were given a PCR test by the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center on Saturday.

Saturday’s negative result follows a negative PCR test for both on Thursday.

As of Saturday, August 8 a total of 99,969(+1,294) cases were reported in Ohio since the pandemic began, leading to 3,668(+16) deaths and 11,516(+69) hospitalizations. There are a presumed 77,429 recovered cases in the state.

Mamma DiSalvo’s temporarily closes after positive COVID-19 test

Mamma DiSalvo’s announced Saturday that it would be closed until at least Aug. 19 after someone tested positive for COVID-19.

The Italian restaurant did not clarify who tested positive or that persons condition.

A spokesperson for the restaurant posted to Facebook saying that the restaurant will continue following safety protocols while closed. A professional cleaning company will be brought in to thoroughly sanitize prior to reopening.
