Police: Suspect passed out in house during Dayton standoff

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — One man has been taken into custody ending a standoff Tuesday morning.

Police surrounded a home in Dayton after a report of a shot fired inside the home around 5:40 am Tuesday. The standoff ended when the unidentified man came out of the house around 8:30 am.

Authorities say a woman called for help around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, claiming a man had touched her inappropriately inside a house on Wellington Drive, near Hearthstone Drive.

Shots fired call leads to brief standoff in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A report of shots fired led to a brief standoff in a Dayton neighborhood early Tuesday.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Ridge Avenue, near E. Siebenthaler Avenue, around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the shot was fired during a dispute between neighbors. No one was injured.

Officers located the suspect at a house and ordered that person to come out. The person refused.

City of Dayton looking to redesign flag

DAYTON- As Dayton continues its reinvention and renewal, local leaders are seeking a new flag to represent a changing city and community looking to the future.

The redesign effort will use community feedback and submissions to create a new opportunity for civic engagement, creativity, and unity.

The first City of Dayton flag was designed in 1917, and the flag was redesigned in 1958.

2 dead, 2 injured after car hits pole in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A car hit a pole in Dayton late Wednesday, leaving two people dead and two other injured.

The crash happened just before midnight on Hoover Avenue, near Graystone Drive.

Police say the car was driving east on Hoover Avenue when it ran off the road and hit a pole.

There were four people inside the car when it crashed.

A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released.

Woman hospitalized after car hits pole in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A woman was hospitalized after her car hit a pole in Dayton early Thursday.

It happened just after 3 a.m. Thursday on N. Gettysburg Avenue, near Oakridge Drive.

Authorities say the woman was driving south on N. Gettysburg Avenue when she lost control and hit the pole.

The car was heavily damaged in the crash.

Medics took the woman to Miami Valley Hospital with reported non-life threatening injuries.
