2 fires reported at same home in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Hours after a fire was put out at a home in Dayton late Wednesday night, another fire broke out at the same home early Thursday morning, according to authorities.

Crews responded to a house fire in the 700 block of S. Smithville Road near Suman Avenue at around 11:15 pm Wednesday. The fire in the back of the home was quickly extinguished. Fire crews were only on scene for about 30 minutes.

Dumpster fire near Dayton gas station spreads to building

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A dumpster fire spread to the building at a Dayton gas station early Wednesday.

It happened just before 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Shell Station on Germantown Street, near S. Gettysburg Avenue.

Authorities say a fire from a dumpster spread to the building of the gas station.

Crews were able to get the fire under control quickly.

There were no reports of injuries.

The building suffered exterior damage, but the gas station is still open.

Man dead after shooting in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is dead after a late night shooting in Dayton.

A 911 caller reported hearing men arguing, before hearing gunshots on West Norman Street, near Mayfair Road, just before 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers responded to the call and found a man dead from a gunshot wound. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Police have not released any suspect information.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation.

Police: Suspect passed out in house during Dayton standoff

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — One man has been taken into custody ending a standoff Tuesday morning.

Police surrounded a home in Dayton after a report of a shot fired inside the home around 5:40 am Tuesday. The standoff ended when the unidentified man came out of the house around 8:30 am.

Authorities say a woman called for help around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, claiming a man had touched her inappropriately inside a house on Wellington Drive, near Hearthstone Drive.

Shots fired call leads to brief standoff in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A report of shots fired led to a brief standoff in a Dayton neighborhood early Tuesday.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Ridge Avenue, near E. Siebenthaler Avenue, around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the shot was fired during a dispute between neighbors. No one was injured.

Officers located the suspect at a house and ordered that person to come out. The person refused.
