Court to hear arguments in Super Bowl ticket lawsuit

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey’s Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in a lawsuit that claims the NFL violated state consumer fraud laws with its ticketing policies for the 2014 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.

Josh Finkelman sued after he said he had to pay more than double the $800 face value on the secondary market because the NFL made only 1 percent of the tickets available to the public.

Irate man gets 20 years for threatening to kill judge

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for threatening to kill a judge he believed ruled against him in his custody case.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports 36-year-old Alan McCarty Jr. spent much of the hearing in an adjacent room with a speaker and one-way glass, just like he did during his trial, after unleashing a fresh stream of obscenities Wednesday at the judge, the prosecutor and even his own public defender.

Authorities: Man steals from cars, falls asleep, is arrested

ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in suburban Atlanta say a man stole credit cards and IDs from eight cars before he fell asleep in one of them and got arrested.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office tells news outlets in a statement that 23-year-old Timothy Zacharie was arrested Tuesday after a deputy found him sleeping inside the parked car of a resident in an Acworth neighborhood.

Girls 'ruin everything' says official on athletic shorts ban

SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee high school official posted online a video banning athletic shorts, saying “blame the girls, because they pretty much ruin everything.”

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports the athletic director and assistant principal of Soddy-Daisy High School, Jared Hensley, posted the video addressed to students online Wednesday morning.

Body in fish tank is that of missing San Francisco man

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Police in San Francisco confirm that a headless body found in a fish tank was that of the homeowner who vanished several months ago.

KPIX-TV says police announced Wednesday that the remains have been identified as those of 65-year-old Brian Egg.

Family and friends hadn’t heard from Egg since June and he was reported missing in late July.

Childish Gambino postpones tour due to injured foot

NEW YORK (AP) - Childish Gambino is postponing his tour to recover after he injured his foot.

Live Nation says the performer’s “This Is America Tour” will resume on Dec. 2 in Nashville, Tennessee. The tour promoter says tickets for the rescheduled shows will be honored at the new dates.

Gambino, whose real name is Donald Glover, injured his foot during a concert in Dallas on Sunday.
