Biden Distances Himself From ‘Socialist’ Left That’s Changing ‘The Definition of a Progressive’

Former Vice President Joe Biden explicitly distanced himself from his party’s left flank Friday speaking to reporters in Washington, D.C.

Biden initially showed confusion between his own self-descriptions. When a reporter asked about him saying he’s the “most progressive” candidate, Biden said, “No, I said liberal. I didn’t say progressive.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden denounced the “sophisticated” and “elitist” attitudes that he believes have overtaken the United States in the past 15-20 years, in a speech delivered to union leaders on Friday.

“There is no possibility any of those guys making millions of bucks on Wall Street, doing good work wherever they’re doing it and doing very well, they could not function without the work you do. Literally. It’s impossible to make the country function without what you do,” Biden told his audience. “And don’t you forget it. Don’t you forget what you do.”

Biden Makes Repeated Jokes About Getting ‘Permission’ to Touch People Following Allegations

Former Vice President Joe Biden made light of the allegations by women against him of inappropriate touching on Friday, joking he had “permission” to hug the man introducing him at a speech and another boy afterward.

Biden was introduced by President Lonnie Stephenson for his speech Friday to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union in Washington.

“I just want you to know, I had permission to hug Lonnie,” Biden said, to laughter from the crowd. “I don’t know, man.”

Hickenlooper: I Will Pass Reparations Commission Bill As President

Presidential candidate John Hickenlooper said that he would pass a bill paying reparations to the descendants of slaves while speaking at Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network convention on Friday.

“I look at the opportunity to provide every person a real chance at creating their own version of the American dream,” he said when asked by Sharpton if he would support the bill, proposed by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas). “It’s one of the fundamental holdings of this country.”

“Yes or no?” someone in the audience shouted at Hickenlooper.

‘Meet the Press Daily’ Host: Asylum Seekers Are ‘Flooding the System’ on the Border

MSNBC host Chuck Todd said asylum seekers from Central and South America are “flooding the system in ways they’ve never flooded it before” on the United States’ southern border with Mexico.

Todd’s comment came during a panel discussion on MSNBC’s Meet the Press about Republican and Democratic responses to increased numbers of immigrants seeking refuge in the United States.

McCarthy: ‘Sad Day’ When Dems Reject Israel Amendment to Yemen Bill

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) ripped into Democrats on Thursday for rejecting a pro-Israel amendment to a resolution on the war in Yemen.

McCarthy and House Republicans, who lost the body’s majority in 2018, called for the addition of pro-Israel language to H.J. Resolution 37. Both the House and Senate passed the original resolution without the language.
