Conservative Immigration Bill Fails in House, Vote Postponed on Moderate Bill

House Republicans on Thursday afternoon postponed the vote on an immigration bill to next week after a more conservative bill failed by a smaller-than-expected margin.

That bill got 193 votes and gave immigration hardliners more leverage to change the House leadership’s bill, NPR reported.

Conservative Columnist and TV Commentator Charles Krauthammer Passes Away

Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and Fox News commentator Charles Krauthammer passed away Thursday after a battle with cancer.

Last year, Krauthammer had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his abdomen, and it led to complications that have kept him hospitalized. He had been recovering but then the cancer came back, leading him to announce earlier this month that he did not have long to live. He was 68 years old.
